5. Student Dies After Kiosk Workers Refuse To Help

Case happened in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. A man is desperate attempt to help a woman from a burning car was in vain because of the petrol kiosk refuse to lend him their fire extinguishers despite his pleadings. This incident was happened in 3.30am yesterday after an accident involving the woman’s Peroduo Myvi, a couple’s Toyota Vios and also a lorry with two men. Among the earliest to arrive on the scene was Teo Chai Yong who is 31 years old. He called with the emergency hotmline operator when he heard the frightened screams of “Help!” from a woman in Myvi. He ran up to the nearest 24 hour petrol station where less than 500m away and hope to get a fire extinguisher but the worker refuse to help. Teo Chai Yong even threw his identity card to them and he pleaded with them to let him have the fire extinguisher and he screamed that someone was pinned inside a burning car. The workers still refused to lend him the fire extinguisher. At the end, Teo Chai Yong rushed back to the accident scene and he only see the car with the woman still inside, engulfed in flames. He mentioned in telephone that she was still screaming but he could no nothing, he can only stood there, and her screams grew more frantic before fading away. This news was published because of let us to know about the people are so lack of humanism nowadays, they can actually because of scare to get rob and not to lend a fire extinguisher even Teo Chai Yong leave his identity card to them.
